Apparantly some eminent physicists are in town for two conferences, Showcase and Emergence, organized by the PITP. Especially worthy of note are Nobel laureates Gerald 't Hooft, Philip Anderson and Douglas Osheroff.

Both of the conferences appear to cover some very interesting topics. I'd hopefully have more to say about them in a couple of weeks.
